I don’t know what page the embattled Liberal leader is on, but on my page, his Liberal team (the team that he thinks can help him win the next federal election whenever it is called) doesn’t even come close to matching the Conservative team. It’s like comparing apples to oranges.
Dion doesn’t have a better team than Prime Minister Harper, and for “Steph” to claim otherwise is absurd, if recent news stories are anything to go by.
Harper’s team isn’t bickering in Quebec. Harper’s deputy leader’s loyalty to the PM hasn’t come into question that I’m aware of, at least not yet anyway. Harper isn’t, or hasn’t had to respond, to allegations that his party leadership is in question. Harper’s Conservative candidates aren’t facing financial challenges like those of the Liberal candidates.
All that being said, I have to wonder whatever gave Dion the silly notion that his team is stronger, and more united than Harper’s team.
Obviously Dion hasn’t the foggiest idea of what kind of political team it takes to represent the best interests of Canada and Canadians. He’s really “out there” if he truly believes that his team is better than Harper’s team. It would appear that Dion doesn’t have high expectations when it comes to team building.
What a stupid, stupid man. Do Canadians really want somebody like him running the country? I hope not.
If Dion thinks he has a stronger team than the PM, how come he is demanding party unity and defending his deputy leader’s loyalty to his leadership? How come “his team” is fighting and is in disarray in Quebec? How come he is calling for his party to focus on Harper’s Conservatives instead of “internecine” feuding?
A party leader with such a strong and loyal team wouldn’t have to make such demands of his team.
The weakest player on the Liberal team is Dion himself. If the Liberals take him out of the “team equation,” the Liberals will be on their way to building a better, stronger and more loyal team than the one the PM Harper captains.

An Aside: Yesterday blog entries motivated a few readers to leave behind a comment or three. The Brenda Martin article caught the attention of Martin’s longtime friend Debra Tieleman. If you have read this far, go have a read. I’m sure most people who read it will find it interesting, and have a few intelligent questions of their own. Article and comments.
