Conservative MP Maxime Bernier is history as Canada’s foreign affairs minister-he has a lot to answer for in my opinion

Whether Canada’s foreign minister was fired or resigned, it’s good to hear the the embattled and gaffe prone MP is no longer heading Canada’s foreign affairs department. Now he needs to leave Canadian politics altogether. He can no longer be trusted to work in the best interest of Canadians.

On Monday Maxime Bernier either resigned or was fired from his cabinet post, depending on what “Stephen Harper”version of events surruonding his departure one chooses to believe. I don’t care one way or the other whether he was fired, or he resigned, because from where I’m sitting the right thing for him to do was to resign and the right thing for PM Harper to do was to fire him if he didn’t resign.

There are a few reasons why I feel Bernier (some of which I have posted in Crooked in Canada previous to today) isn’t fit for a any Cabinet post, let alone the foreign ministry, but the fact that he left classified documents at his former girlfriend’s (Julie Couillard-a woman who has ties to outlaw motorcycle gangs the “Rock Machine” and “Hells Angels”) apartment this past April is an indication of just how incompetent Bernier is in the political arena.

One could also easily surmise, given the fact Bernier left such documents at a known biker associate’s home, that the Conservative MP may be a little dirty if you know what I mean. To be honest here I don’t think he should be an elected Member of Parliament given what Canadians (especially those that voted for him) know about him now.

Despite what PM Harper is saying, I’m on board with the three opposition parties call that there should be some sort of investigation into what I consider myself to be a major security breach by a sitting member of the House of Commons, and I echo the opposition’s sentiments. I hope the prime minister steps up to the plate and orders an inquiry, if only to re-establish the credibility his government has lost because of Bernier’s questionable actions as a sitting MP and a member of his caucus.

The fact that Bernier would even take such documents into Couillard’s home raises a lot of suspicions, not to mention that nobody in the Conservative Party had even noticed that the documents were missing up to five weeks.

Is Bernier dirty, corrupt or what? What does anybody really know about his character, other than what his closest friends and allies say about him, or what he reveals about himself?

LiarCard

For all anybody knows, he could be very corrupt, a crooked politician who isn’t above putting national security at risk. Given what we have learned about him in recent weeks, there is reason enough for not only the opposition to be concerned, but the Conservative Party too when it comes to Bernier’s character and background. His life should be picked apart and thoroughly examined, as I feel Bernier has a lot of secrets, one of which might include his involvement in organized crime before he entered the political arena.

If PM Harper doesn’t launch an investigation into recent events surrounding Bernier, then the Conservative government has lost a lot support from me, and I will find it hard to support them in the future.

As for Julie Couillard, she should be investigated too, and no stone should be left unturned. I don’t think this woman jumped between the sheets with the embattled MP solely because she was in love with him, I think she had ulterior motives, and to that end I think she needs to be investigated by the RCMP. I highly doubt that she is squeaky clean in this matter.

The Executive's Closet

That being said, I’m pleased to hear that Maxime Bernier is history. He’s a shady character, as we can all attest to now, and as far as I’m concerned he is no longer fit or able to represent the best interests of Canadians.

Maxime Bernier has discredited the Conservative Party and he has let down Canadians, though to what extent is yet to be determined, and I hope that the next step he takes is to get out of political arena altogether. Time will tell.

By the way, Julie Couillard claims her bedroom was bugged and PM Harper has stated he has no reason to believe that anyone planted listening devices in Couillard’s apartment. That being said, it isn’t out of the realm of possibilities that an outlaw motorcycle gang planted the bugs, right?

Also, a woman just doesn’t walk away from a biker gang, especially one that was married to a Hells Angel or Rock Machine member.

Julie Couillard is and always will belong to an outlaw motorcycle gang, despite her claims otherwise.

Bugs or no bugs, Maxime Bernier f**ked up big time and aside from the fact that he has either resigned or has been fired from his lofty position, he has a lot to answer to.

Headline: Harper dismisses Bernier security concerns, despite firing him for security lapse (In this article it is claimed that PM Harper fired him, and then in the same article it is claimed that Bernier resigned-So which is it, was he fired or did he resign?)
