So what do British Columbia residents think will happen to the seven Red Scorpion gang members who were busted in an undercover operation in Victoria, keep in mind that in B.C. most Canadians that pay attention to what is happening in the news are more than a little aware of how soft judges in that province are on gang members who are busted in undercover operations.
Case in point, the very f**ked in the head and extremely incompetent Justice Anne McKenzie, remember her, she’s the one that rule that a full-patch member of the Hells Angels wasn’t a member of organized crime? This despite the fact that 52 kilograms of cocaine was found in the outlaw motorcycle gang member’s locker.
Judges as dumb as her are a dime-a-dozen in British Columbia, and I have no doubt in mind that the “show no mercy” members of the Red Scorpions who were busted in an undercover operation that caught them trying to set up a “dial-a-dope” drug sales network.
“Dial-a-dope,” hmm…I wonder if B.C. prosecutors use that term when they say they have to call a judge.
Interesting point I would like to make while I’m at it, why is it that the Red Scorpions haven’t run into any problems with the Hells Angels (turf wars, etc.), who as everybody well knows in Canada embraces the drug-trafficking trade and covets “their territory?” Why is that do you think?
My theory is it’s because they are linked, that the Hells Angels is using the gang that has risen out of young-offenders center (that says a lot about the youth detention system doesn’t it) to sell their drugs for them. I also wouldn’t be surprised to hear that there might be a Hells Angel or associate working in young offender detention facilities in British Columbia to recruit Red Scorpion gang members. It isn’t a stretch to assume the latter is it…
In my opinion, the Red Scorpions and Hells Angels are joined at the hip, that that’s why one isn’t trying to kill the other. Think about, the Red Scorpions are a multi-ethnic gang like Hells Angels, loyalty and respect is held in highest regard among gang members just like the Hells Angels, and last but not least, it is hard for the Hells Angels to do business in the drug trade these days given their high profile and their familiarity to law enforcement agencies across the country. It only makes sense for them to hook-up with a street gang.
That said…
There is no denying that valuable police resources, taxpayer’s money and time is spent on bringing the gang problem in B.C. under control, but when judges like Anne McKenzie let gang members walk on various technicalities, iffy search and seizure measures, bad warrant applications, blah, blah, blah; the money, time and resources goes all for knot and the gang member “beats the rap,” leaves the courthouse with cell phone attached to his ear, and continues his enterprising and violent criminal ways. By the way, I’m all for laws that prevent convicted drug traffickers from having a cell phone in their possession, but of course that would never fly. You know what I mean, it’s that “protect their rights and civil liberties” thing, and we all know that gang members, drug dealers and traffickers have just as much of a right to possess a cell phone as you, me or the killer on the run. Where would drug dealers and traffickers be today without their cell phones-eh?
I’m all for protecting somebody’s rights and civil liberties, but at the end of the day when it comes to organized crime, the criminal offence itself and the victims, far outweighs the rights of the gang member. Don’t get me wrong, I think they should have their rights protected to but protecting those rights shouldn’t mean they should be able to receive a “Get of Jail Free” card every time an undercover cop, patrol cop, or prosecutor throws caution to the wind and violates the criminal’s rights in the very least of ways.
It is f**king bullshit, and the crims are laughing at the prospect of being busted because they know that at the end of the day all they have to do is play the “rights” card, and depending on the judge, “POOF!” Charges dropped. Case dismissed. They walk
How many charges against the seven busted Red Scorpions will be dropped? How many of the charges will be thrown out of court or withdrawn of the prosecutor because of questionable tactics or evidence? Which B.C. judge is going to pull an “Anne McKenzie”?
Wake up call to British Columbia from Crooked in Canada, if you want the gang problem cleaned up in your province, under control, start holding your judges accountable for their actions when it comes to gang related cases before them. When a judge screws up, go after the judge. Just don’t sit there and do nothing, do something about it. Like the crim, you have rights too, and it’s high time you exercised your right to hold judges accountable. Do that, and maybe judges like Anne McKenzie will think twice about ruling in favour of gang members.
That said; is it any wonder that B.C. has such a huge gang problem, what with judges like Anne McKenzie delivering their justice.
I’m looking forward to hearing what happens to the Red Scorpions now.
